Meet the 2017 Nonprofit Excellence Awards Selection Committee

On December 1st, three nonprofits from among 10 semifinalists will find out which prize - Gold, Silver or Bronze - they've won in the 2017 New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards. The program's expert 30-member Selection Committee is responsible for making the decision and, before that, for choosing the semifinalists and finalists from this year's pool of 45 applicant organizations.

Ten nonprofit groups from across the city have been chosen as semifinalists for The New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards Program, making them eligible for $60,000 in cash prizes and scholarships to Columbia Business School programs.

Become an NPCC Trainer

The Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York (NPCC) has opened the Become An NPCC Trainer application for professional development workshops for the period beginning October 2017 through September 2018. Potential trainers from within the nonprofit sector as well as the for-profit arena are welcome to apply.

On May 4th, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) regarding “religious liberty.” In the days prior to May 4th, there were rumors that this EO would include provisions that would sanction discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, provisions that impacted reproductive health care, and provisions that would allow religious organizations to endorse political candidates, effectively “destroying” nonprofit nonpartisanship, as the President had vowed to do months early.

We, as nonprofits, have the expertise and experience to know how these proposals will affect our day-to-day work, and we must use that expertise to advocate for the solutions we think are most effective.
