Communications and Production Assistant/Associate

   Key Functions Proactively promote the brand and image of the organization Work closely with the director of communications and digital content manager on implementation of short- and long-term communications initiatives

Digital Productions

Responsible for producing and advancing the organization’s video interview series with experts on U.S.-China relations from developing subjects, interview topics and questions, to filming and editing finished pieces Responsible for filming the organization’s events, conducting livestreams of programs, and recording podcast and video interviews Edit videos, photos, podcasts, and other audio for upload and social media distribution Manage uploads of digital media to various platforms Manage the organization’s audio and video equipment Work with the communications team to develop strategies to increase the organization’s digital audience, expand digital media offerings, and manage curated content

Graphic Design

Design selected graphics for the website, social media, and marketing emails Design graphics, logos, and publications for programs as needed Work with the communications team on production of the annual report Maintain and update the organization’s letterhead and business cards as needed Ensure consistent branding across organizational graphics

Communications

Edit program and organizational photos as needed Work with program staff to create photo albums for Facebook and the website Coordinate A/V for programs and events as needed Work with director of communications to organize and digitize organizational photos

Qualifications

Background knowledge of key policy issues in the U.S.-China relationship Experience or interest in learning graphic design, photo editing, and video production Effective analytical and writing skills required, experience in journalism a plus Highly organized, detailed oriented, strong time-management skills necessary Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively

Requirements

U.S. work authorization required B.A. in relevant field required Must be available to film occasional evening events

Key Functions

Manage a range of technology needs within the organization; including development and implementation of a technology systems plan Work with internal teams to develop technology products and solutions Provide daily desktop support for staff

Guide the development of the organization’s technology systems with special regard to Drupal software and Salesforce Manage the implementation of the technology systems Work with departments to help think through their technology needs Stay up to date on technology trends and new technology being used by other nonprofits, academics and corporate partners Provide updates to senior leadership and the organization on how technology is changing the nonprofit sector Handle the ongoing technology needs of the organization on a day-to-day basis

Qualifications

Ability to piece together platforms/technology to create cohesive systems Experience with 3rd party integrations in Salesforce Strong strategic mindset Experience delivering service/support to stakeholders at all levels Ability to forge strong relationships with managers and staff Excellent communication and people skills Aptitude in problem solving Desire to work as team with a results-driven approach Ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment HTML coding experience preferred Salesforce certification preferred
