Nonprofit New York’s policy work seeks to strengthen and unite New York’s nonprofits. When we come together and unite as one, our voice is amplified, our influence magnified, and real change is possible. We believe when your nonprofit is stronger, all of us are stronger.

We Rally the Nonprofit Community

Nonprofit New York grounds our strategy in the Declaration of Nonprofit Rights:

  • We have a right to sustainable resources and a responsibility to serve our communities well.
  • We have a right to engage in advocacy and a responsibility to share our expertise.
  • We have a right to be fairly treated as a workforce and a responsibility to champion equity.
  • We have a right to be powerful forces of change and a responsibility to advance the future of all communities.

Our job is to elevate the voices of our members, and the nonprofit sector, to advance public policy that supports the sector, and to strengthen nonprofits’ ability to advocate for their mission.
