Weeksville Heritage Center (WHC) is a historic site and culture center in Brooklyn. Our mission is to preserve, document, and inspire engagement in the history of Weeksville and bring awareness to one of the largest free Black communities in pre-Civil War America and the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses. We have event spaces available for rent Tuesday through Saturday at 158 Buffalo Avenue. They include a multipurpose room (1900 sqft), workshop, atrium/cafe (740 sqft), and lawn area (in-season). We can accommodate up to 275 people depending on the space used and the setup arrangements. In-house furniture includes rectangular tables and chairs. For New Media and AV equipment, we have projectors and microphones available. Our space is versatile because we’ve hosted board meetings, conferences, classes, and more. Income generated by our rentals goes directly back to supporting our preservation and public engagement efforts. We ask interested parties to submit requests 45 days before the event to allow enough time to coordinate logistics. You can fill out a request form here. Contact - [email protected]
