Founded in 1929, the YWCA has evolved into becoming an anchor and hub of activities for the White Plains and Central Westchester community, offering intergenerational programming for those ages 3 months to older adults and being on the forefront of racial justice advocacy.

The organization currently has 160 full-time staff, and the number of part-time staff varies seasonally. The YWCA has 14 board members and an operating budget of $7.2 million.

YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester is networked with YWCA USA which serves over 2 million women, girls, and their families. YWCA USA’s mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities. YWCA has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 160 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform.

The YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester is at a crucial point in its nearly century history and as the movement for racial justice deepens across the country.

The organization has been dynamic and nimble in its program development, meeting the needs of the community. Now, the YWCA has the opportunity to further merge its program delivery with its mission to eliminate racism and empower women.

YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester seeks a strategic, experienced, and compassionate leader who is ready to usher the organization to its next phase.

The next CEO will be entering a dynamic environment surrounded by a community of passionate stakeholders from staff, Board of Directors, members, and community partners. The next leader will nurture a culture that is grounded in a shared vision, fosters collaboration across programs, pursues quality, supports equity and diversity, and engenders mutual respect.

Candidates will have a demonstrated success in fundraising through diverse sources from government to high-level donors and membership drives including major gifts and capital campaigns.

This leader will have experience working towards women’s empowerment and/or eliminating racism. The candidate must have a commitment towards furthering anti-racism initiatives within their professional and/or personal lives through volunteerism.

The salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $200,000 and will be commensurate with experience along with a board-designated annual bonus of up to 15% of base salary. YWCA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to paid holidays, vacation, group health and dental, as well as a retirement plan.
