Vibrant’s Center for Policy, Advocacy and Education works to advance sound behavioral health policies and practices across the life cycle, and provides training and technical assistance with a variety of sectors, including for nonprofit organizations, city agencies, and for-profit entities throughout New York City and beyond.

Position Description:
Vibrant is seeking an exceptional candidate to design and facilitate interactive, skill-based workshops for human services professionals throughout NYC focusing broadly on 1) best practices in strength-based case management, 2) self-care, reflective practice and stress management, 3) trauma-informed practices, and 4) youth and adult mental health. The ideal candidate has clinical knowledge and experience working with youth and families, including those with mental and behavioral health needs, and is able to translate this understanding into dynamic and engaging content for adult learners.  The Training Associate is passionate about supporting non-clinical professionals to expand their understanding and skills for working with youth and families with mental, emotional, and/or behavioral health challenges. In collaboration with the Director of Training, the Training Associate develops training content, coordinates training logistics, facilitates interactive sessions, analyzes evaluation data to shape future training offerings.

Trainer Responsibilities:
Facilitate interactive, skill-based professional development for human services, youth development, and education-focused professionals
  • Develop and deliver training focused on youth mental health, trauma-informed practices, and engagement of youth and families with mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges.
  • Support and assist in the design of effective evaluation practices that ensure training outcomes meet learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with Director of Training to develop new and innovative online courses.
  • Provide additional support for the Center for Policy, Advocacy and Education, as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s in social work, mental health counseling or public health preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience providing direct service to children, youth and families in an urban setting.
  • 5+ years of facilitating adult learning through workshops, training, or teaching.
  • Experience developing engaging and interactive content for professional development workshops.
  • Passion and dedication to supporting the de-stigmatization of mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with child, youth and family-serving systems throughout NYC.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
