Manager of Government & Training Grants and Contracts

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is currently seeking a Manager of Government & Training Grants and Contracts. This individual will be responsible for securing funding through government agencies and through training and consulting contracts with outside entities. Primary responsibilities include researching, identifying and writing grant applications for government funding opportunities (federal, state, local), identifying opportunities and writing proposals for Training Institute contracts, and managing (in collaboration with program staff) the post award process. This position reports to the Assistant Executive Director/Legal Counsel. This position is hybrid in office/remote.

Responsibilities:

Government Grants:

        • Identify and research government funding opportunities relevant to NYSPCC programs
        • Analyze all relevant RFPs, and prepare summary memos for Program staff
        • Plan strategies for securing new grants and bolstering support and revenue
        • Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to plan for all government grant opportunities 
        • Lead the preparation and development of government grant proposals, including all external and internal outreach and planning required and the drafting of the narrative, budget, and all attachments
        • Ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including research, training, clinical, and fiscal
        • Write proposals to fund or initiate research, direct service, evaluation, or special projects
        • Monitor and execute grant close out, extension, or renewal as necessary
        • Partner with Research, Training, Clinical, and Fiscal teams to ensure that reports are completed accurately and on time, as needed
        • Develop and maintain relationships with project officers and program managers at funder agencies to facilitate quality and timely reporting and continued funding
        • Other related duties as assigned.

Training Contracts:

      • Identify opportunities and conduct outreach for training and consultation projects related to training curriculum development and delivery, policy and procedure reviews, train-the-trainer programs and special projects
      • Plan strategies for securing new contracts and partnerships and bolstering support and revenue
      • Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to plan for all contract opportunities
      • Lead the preparation and development of training proposals, including all external and internal outreach and planning required and the drafting of the narrative, budget and contract with Legal Counsel input
      • Ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including training and fiscal
      • Monitor and execute contract close out, extension, or renewal as necessary
      • Partner with Training and Fiscal teams to ensure that reports are completed accurately and on time, as needed
      • Develop and maintain relationships with contracted partners to facilitate quality and timely reporting and continued funding
      • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree or doctorate in social science (ex. Psychology), public health, social work, or related field
      • Minimum (5) five years of successful grant writing experience and funding track record
      • A background in writing research, direct service, and/or training-based grants
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to complete high quality work independently as well as be a contributing member of a team
      • Demonstrated research project design skills
      • Excellent project management skills, with a proactive communication style
      • Ability to meet deadlines and perform to a high quality of work
      • Knowledge of and contribution to the fields of complex trauma, child sexual abuse, supervised visitation, training, or related evidence-based interventions preferred.

Salary: $75-80k
