Join SHARE and make a difference in the lives of those facing breast and ovarian cancer. SHARE is looking for a detail oriented professional to create, plan and facilitate educational programming, manage data, work closely with volunteers and coordinate logistics. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Program Planning & Implementation

  • Manage development of three program guides annually: 

    • Following guidance of directors, schedule educational programs both on and off-site with program staff and support group facilitators. 

    • Edit, proofread, and confirm content of three program guides each year. 

  • Coordinate online program logistics: 

    • Prepare presenters i.e. obtain slides and bio, description of program, title, date and instruct them on presentation protocol. 

    • Provide technical support for online presentations.

  • Coordinate logistics for in-person programs: 

    • Set up room for on site programs and meetings.

    • Reserve spaces off site.

    • Brief moderator and program hosts on all needed information. 

    • Provide sign in sheets and evaluations.

  • Liaison with support group facilitators, presenters and program directors:

    • Confirm/remind program with presenters 1-2 weeks before program.

    • Manage relationships with volunteer support group facilitators.

  • Promote educational programs:

    • Promote internally to helpline personnel, facilitators and all other constituents of SHARE as well as other identified organizations. 

    • Communicate with community leaders, elected representatives, the medical community, media and others to increase awareness of SHARE and its services through email and direct mail campaigns. 

    • Collaborate with the Communications department to ensure all programs are highlighted in our monthly email newsletter, other social media venues, on the SHARE website and in printed marketing materials.

  • Manage relationships with program attendees:

    • First point of contact for members of the SHARE community who sign up for programs. Send confirmation emails for program attendees.

  • Supervise program interns and volunteers as needed.

 

Data Management

  • Collect and process program attendance data and evaluation forms. 

  • Create and manage calendar system across programs.

Support Directors (3)

  • Support Program Directors and staff in the development of three program guides per year.

  • Assist with travel arrangements as needed.

  • Coordinate program staff meetings. Take meeting minutes and distribute to program staff.

 

Reports To: Breast Cancer Program Director and Ovarian Cancer Program Director.

Work Schedule: Five days a week. Occasional evening hours required. 

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, good people skills, outgoing, problem solver, and also big picture for growing programs and creating better systems for communications, programs and evaluations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people: doctors, researchers, participants, cancer survivors. 

  • Advanced computer skills (Google calendar and Drive, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office).

  • Experience in health education, health non-profit, or health care system preferred. Knowledge of the cancer community helpful but not required.

  • Event planning experience a plus.

  • Education: College degree preferred.

  • Two years of relevant experience.

  • Able to start immediately.
