The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue and current and prospective donors. He/she also provides comprehensive administrative assistance to the development department, with a focus on fundraising support, effective database management and reporting, event logistics and donor stewardship efforts (acknowledgements, printed material inventory, prep materials for donor meetings). As necessary, the Donor Relations Coordinator will recruit and oversee volunteers to help with department efforts. Paramount to this position is the ability to work with a high degree of independence, and juggle various projects at once, while maintaining a clear view of how each project supports the organization’s mission.

  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with new and existing donors with the goal of repeat gifts, deeper engagement in the work of the organization, and legacy planning through a planned giving program.
  • Manage an integrated stewardship plan for a variety of constituencies.
  • Develop and manage donor education and engagement activities and participate in the development and coordination of events.
  • Work with the investment, finance and/or fund administration teams to resolve and/or develop creative solutions to fund and grant issues and donor requests.
  • Help maintain prospect, donor and fund records in donor database; ensure timely entry of activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement and uphold data integrity protocols to ensure accurate reporting and inform departmental activities.
  • Field inquiries via telephone, correspondence, and email.
  • Support gift acknowledgement processes during peak seasons.
  • Support the development and growth of partnership opportunities to deepen engagement and meaningful collaboration between the organization and donors.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 2 years of work experience in development, client relations, and fundraising.  Experience must include working with high-net-worth donors and familiarity with fundraising and philanthropy.
  • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or in the process of becoming fully vaccinated.
  • Must be goal-oriented and have strong collaboration and influencing skills; strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent data management and reporting skills; strong customer service orientation; must have the ability to work independently and proactively under the pressure of tight deadlines; ability to advise and council individuals and families on their philanthropy decision making and planning; ability to understand and communicate finance, accounting and investment strategies to a wide range of audiences, including donors and professional advisors; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products – especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point; database experience strongly preferred.


Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (35 hours/week)

Must be available to regularly work outside the regularly scheduled workday as needed.
