TITLE: Research & Data Coordinator

 

REPORTS TO: Policy Director

 

BASIC FUNCTION: The Research & Data Coordinator is a highly-motivated and detailed person actively supporting and executing Nonprofit New York’s research and data projects. The Research & Data Coordinator enjoys data analysis and entry, research, communicating findings, writing, and thrives at project management.

 

CLASSIFICATION: Not-Exempt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

 

Nonprofit New York research projects

  • Design, coordinate, and conduct various surveys and assessments of issues of the sector

  • Coordinate and draft reports based on surveys and assessments as needed by the organization, including Nonprofit New York’s Salary Survey and Needs Assessment reports

 

Data analysis and support

  • Coordinate Nonprofit New York’s data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, for research and reports

  • Enter, clean, code, and analyze data for research findings and organizational learning

  • Maintain, update, and revise various databases and information resources

  • Maximize effective use of data gathered through Nonprofit New York channels

  • Work closely with other staff to support data management systems, including data entry for various programs as needed

  • Report information to relevant staff as needed

 

Office Support 

Technology

  • Work with COO in efforts to maintain up to date data technology and utilize available technology to create data efficiencies in the organization

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Skills & Experience

  • 2 -3 years of professional work experience in a similar role

  • At least 1 year of experience supporting with data management, analysis, and report writing

  • High comfort level with quantitative and qualitative data analysis

  • Strong writing skills

  • Comfort working in databases

  • Public policy analysis and writing a plus

  • Salesforce experience a plus

  • Understanding of nonprofit management, infrastructure, and capacity building a plus

SALARY: $52,000 per year. Excellent working environment and generous benefits (health insurance, dental, vision, vacation, sick, holidays, 401k retirement with 200% match contributions).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer.
