Health People is a leading community health organization, started in 1990 as a women’s AIDS prevention and support program. About the Position
We seek a Deputy Manager of Operations to assist the Human Resources & Fiscal Manager; this is a new position that has the potential to develop around the skills and experience of a qualified candidate. Applicants do not need to have experience in all areas listed below; a very strong background in nonprofit accounting is desirable. Ideally, functions of this position will include:
- Accounting activities: Bookkeeping, Payroll, Accounts payable; accounts receivable, Filing
- Budgets for RFPs & planning, invoicing/vouchers, audits, updating and automating systems
- Purchasing, procurement, petty cash
- Reports and submissions according to specific contract requirements
- Review and Reconciliation of Contracts and Policies & Procedures; Compliance
- Timekeeping and accruals, Data entry
- Other related tasks, according to candidate’s skills/experience and organization’s needs
Qualifications
- Knowledge and at least 2+ years’ experience with mid-sized nonprofit community based organization operations, accounting systems and/or human resources
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to relate to the bigger picture
- Trustworthy (multiple references are required)
- Able to think critically and work independently with little supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is a must
- Experience with accounting software desirable
- Knowledge of FundEZ or similar program(s) a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance a plus
Schedule & Salary Information
35 hrs/wk, M-F within regular business hours, salary is $60,000+, commensurate with skills/experience
