Common Threads Project (CTP) is a dynamic growing nonprofit working in the international humanitarian sphere. Our mission is to help women and girls heal from the enduring psychological effects of sexual and gender-based violence in the context of war and displacement. Our unique arts-based approach to trauma treatment has proven effective in diverse settings. We build local capacity through training and supervision, and support local mental health specialists to establish healing circles and conduct a transformative therapy process. Our field operations are in Bosnia, Nepal, Ecuador, Democratic Republic of Congo, and in immigrant and refugee communities in Seattle and New York.


We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated individual to join our organization as an Administrative Officer. This person needs to be committed to our mission and become an essential member of our core team, working closely with the Executive Director to carry out a variety of responsibilities:




       Coordinates financial records with bookkeeping service and Accountant


       Works with executive team on budgets and proposals


       Maintenance of the organization’s website, email server, shared calendar, and shared files


       Communication with staff, faculty and all consultants


       Maintenance of the organization’s email server, shared calendar, and shared files


       Procurement, contracts


       Manages files and filing system


       Maintains of mailing list and donor database (Neon CRM)


       Maintenance of the organization’s records, including finance


       Arranges meetings and events


       Compiles reports and summaries


       Documents meetings as needed


       Helps plan and facilitate board retreats


       Helps plan trainings and travel




       Assists in drafting project reports, grant reports, and oversees preparation of relevant financial information for varied purposes


       Coordinates production of Annual reports: including design, general content, and financial information


       Oversees social media and posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter


       Oversees preparation of press publications, including press releases, interviews, and expository articles




       3 years in administrative position


       BA required, MA preferred


       Understanding of administration and finance related to non-profit


       Excellent writing skills


       Familiarity with Neon, Quick Books, Canva, Excel, Google Suite, etc.


       Attention to detail


       Ease with technology, capable of trouble shooting


       Ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor


       Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills


       Passionate about Common Threads Project’s mission and impact
