The HR MANAGER administers human resources, including employee benefits and contracts, company benefits and records maintenance, interfaces with employees on overall organizational communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•HR & benefits consulting with new and exiting staff

•Job Postings, reference checks and on-boarding

• Benefits administration

•Insurance administration

• Personnel management

•Records maintenance, employee leave records

• Staff evaluation tracking and processing

• Maintain the personnel policies manual

• Keep organization current with changing employment laws

•Coordinate health and safety trainings

 •Maintain emergency action plans

 • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years as an HR generalist

• Four year degree in a related field

• Familiarity with Federal & New York State and City labor laws

• Experience working with union staff

• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Excellent judgment, strong organizational and decision-making skills

• Detail-oriented; able to handle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Must have ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment

 

COMPENSATION:

Salary commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits
